The El Paso Public Library’s Summer Reading Club (SRC) kicks-off on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at all public library facilities. The theme for this year is, "Dig Up A Good Book! / ¡Excave Un Libro Bueno!". Children just completing the 5th Grade and are age 12 and under are eligible to participate.
It is easy to join and it is FREE! Simply visit any public library, fill out a registration form and start reading. Kids are encouraged to read just 8 books or 8 hours, depending on their reading level.
At the end of Summer Reading Club, each child who meets or exceeds these goals, will receive a certificate of completion.
Some library branches offer other reading incentives such as prizes, goodie bags and toys for those completing the program.
